The map and civ matchup is very important to consider when deciding how to allocate your villagers. And if I have 2 forward boars, the second one will be taken before going to berries. Or is it? If I am against Mongols or a meso civ, and find my boar is forward, I am going to take it with my 6th vill, despite what the "build order" says.

This is THE build order for the first 9 vills of every game. And if you are against Persians, who go forward to douche you, then your entire build order goes out the window.īuild 2 houses, then 6 on sheep, then 3 on wood. You might need more on wood to wall your unwallable base. You might want more vills on forward berries to eat them before archers show up.

The build orders are generally based on "ideal" situations: perfect map, not hard to wall, standard civilizations, etc. While these instructions are supposed to be good to follow, since it is the most "efficient" way to do a scouts into knights build, memorizing the exact instructions is not very helpful. And then to send 5 vills to gold around 14 min. For instance, instructions for a scouts into knights build tells you to click up to Feudal Age with 20 vills, allocating 11 vills to food and 9 to wood. Either way, this is my advice to you.Ī build order is a set of instruction dictating the most efficient way to allocate vills to various resources to perform a specific strategy. Maybe I am just lazy, or maybe I am on to something.
